The BBC Good Food Show is one of the biggest events for food in the country, so as foodies we decided we’d go down to Olympia London to see what the fuss is about. Here’s our picks of the best from show – in our opinion some stand out brands producing incredible food!

First thing to say is we should’ve gone with an empty stomach! With all the samples on offer let’s just say lunch covered - that includes a drink and some desert by the way!

Apart from eating food, the show is a chance to learn about food, meet the people behind the brands and see some of the UK’s top chefs cooking live. It’s a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to pick up some deals with brands offering discounts on purchases.

There were a lot of very exciting stalls but here’s our picks of some of the stand out foods.

    Seeds of Change

    Why we love it

We were given Tomato, Chilli, Basil and Chive seeds in small satchets - all to plant ourselves. What a great idea! Seeds of Change are on a mission to preserve biodiversity and promote organic agricultural practices. They have grown into a successful organic food business, with a range of cooking sauces, pasta sauces, pasta and rice and grains products. They also donate 1% of sales to research and promotion of biodiversity and sustainable organic practices.

If you haven’t heard already, goats milk is easier on the stomach, full of calcium and with lots of phosphorous, bioton and vitamin A. We converted to it a couple of years back when we were introduced to Nannycare infant formula. But what’s got us really excited is the Ice cream – its creamy, delicious and feels guilt free and light.

    Why we love it

With coconut oils, water and creams abound, it’s nice to hear the story of a Shri Lankan family producing coconut products from their life long knowledge of it. I had a headache and was given a delicious bottle of their water, which as promised, did in fact make it go away. Enough said!

This eye catching stand giving away chocolate cake was always going to get our attention, Sofia quickly rushed to grab what ended being a cake made of vegetables, and it was far from boring. They have lots of great ideas, inspirations and courses not to mention some impressive cookware products.

My daughter Sofia and I love peanut butter so you can imagine this was an important stop. All the peanuts are from the same farm in Argentina where the founder spent a lot of time understanding peanuts! No sugar, no palm oil, the peanuts are all roasted here in London and the result is seriously tasty stuff!

    Why we love it

A gourmet frozen cookie dough made with the finest ingredients. The owner gave us a macha and white chocolate cookie to try and it was like time stood still for just a moment! You can buy a pack and freeze it so it comes out on special occasion with the kids, or if you are anything like me, you may just want one every night with a cup of tea.
